Eleven Minutes,An exhibition of paintings by artist Visweswara Rao .B At ICONART Gallery ,Hyderabad.

Physical or the visual layout of Hyderabad city is a substantial blend of time and space. People in Hyderabad wish to remain certain elements the way it was. For example, Hi-tech city and the  Old city  area are the two paradoxical  entity of this city and this  contradictory elements in this city  significantly reflected in visweswara Rao’s  art  work as well 

Visweswara Rao born and raised from an orthodox religious family and his mystical calculative knowledge skill  is significantly reflected in this exhibition as well . In order to complete, Mr Visweswar spent minutes and seconds and it reminds me the format of haiku stories[1] which is routed from Japanese culture.  Most of his art work predominated with the dextrous skill of drawing For example, the painting entitled Birthday party painted with water colour on paper. He coherently merged the diaphanous qualities of water colour with the natural exteriority of handmade paper however the linear decorative motives in these painting reminds his inclination towards drawings.

 Visweswer’s painterly approach is very minimal  for example the painting entitled Caged is an exterior layout of a wooden cupboard .Most of his paintings deals with the Oil impasto[2] technique in fact ,the effective usage of physicality of pigment is a narrate tool through which Mr. Visweswar distinguish  The tactile qualities  of objects in this piece of art.

 His aesthetic obsession overlaps with the wed of white and grey. Predomination of hazy grey patches and the minimal usage of linseed oil make the painting surface remain dry. The schema of colour, dry pallet and the still life imageries remain the thought process of Giorgio Morandi[3]

In his most recent paintings  Visweswar enacted like an impressionist[4] who fall in love with luminous beauty of landscape and quotidian lifestyle of Modern Europe[5]. Most of his recent paintings exploring the possibility of a work of art from his family evidently different objects such as toys ,holyday picnic  experience incarnate a new creative entity.

In this exhibition Mr. Visweswar has showcased seventy four paintings. Majority of these art works  are the juxtaposition of different  tiny squares and rectangle .In fact,  this display of art work  can be very well compared with  the maze  of  puzzle block or the different  windows which people tend to opened in a personal computer.

A story between summer and monsoon

Initially our house was located in the middle of a harvest field and these harvest pans known as  kandam .When there  was cultivation people used to preserve this land it can be very well compare with the relationship of a mother and child . They used to burn the remains of the harvest from the field ,cleaned the muddy soil plucked poppies  and ivy . I have gained  this knowledge from  my parents and grandparents .
 At the time of  my child hood there was no cultivation nearer to my house. However,  plenty empty  harvest fields there were which  herald the memory of cultivation. Those harvest fields were one of our play areas . During  the time of  summer those fields use to  dried up and generate cracks  on the earth .The creaky soil pieces look like a brown cake piece and we used to play and throw it in the muddy  water.

At the end of summer season the ground become strong and dusty due to the reason in the first rain the water which remain in the field look like a intense  coffee brown colour . After a couple of rain fall those fields were again filled up with rain water and the muddy coloured water body turned  to be lemon green colour . The pink water Lilly blooms in these olive green water surfaces gives a delightful visual  experience . 
We used to pluck the pink and white coloured water lilies with the long brown stem  and made a necklace out of  it .The bright  white water Lilly flower remain as a pendent of the necklace . During this period the harvest fields filled up  with  various kinds of aqua plans  .These aqua plants known by various local names  for instance, Water hyacinth is known as Kulavazha, karibaweed is known as African Payal . The shape of individual  water Hyacinth Patel is oval in shape and the colour formation of  this flower Patel remain the peacock father . The colour scheme of water hyacinth predominate with the sleek blend of smooth violet and blue and it was  given  an  amusing  experience.

There was a kind of marine bloom known as Chelli we used to pluck it from the ponds and spared it on the ground .While walking on this water bloom it a burst The harvest field near to my house through a smooth passage way and  it was well  connected with the river however  no one explore the possibility of this route. Once, we have explore this route to access construction materials to our house. In fact, we were thrilled to see a boat which has reached near to our house. Those harvest fields are faded away because those fields were filled up with  underwater  soil.Majority of harvest fields filled up with the underwater earth which extract from our village

There was a time people use to involve dredging mud from this river and used for various needs. So many people were  involved in digging the soil from under water earth  .The river which is near to my house was not deepen however, Irrespective of many factor the soil dredging  is a risky task  . Firstly the water in the river was salty and dirty . Moreover they have implemented very primitive technique to dig the soil from the river. In order to dredge the black soil they have only used a kind of spad which is known as Thoomba. Along with this spad they used to go to the underwater and extract the soil. From morning till evening they have damped in the salty and dirty water. There was demand of black soil to fill the ponds which was a harvest pan once upon a time due to this time people depend on the river and back water soil . The underwater soil is remain black and the first rain of monsoon  wash away the dirty layer of soil  and it also discrete the different kind of seashells from the earth. We used to collect and observe various sea shells clean and preserved it

Life study is one of the significant segments in   visual art practice. In a certain extent the life models is one of the  core components  in a work of art for few artists .The film entitled Modigliani is a  semi-biographical film of the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani .Modi Glliani’s paintings deal with the portraits and profiles of different life modals .This film magnificently describe the relevance of life model in a work of art .Similarly, Pablo Picasso’s  a series of art  entitled La Celestina  was based on a female models in his time these series of art work  he has made based on Roja’s literary text entitled LaCelestina moreover it is considered as one of the significant literary text  in Spanish literature

 The meaning of celestina is re berth and It is published between the end of middle ages and renaissance period where  Greco roman myths rebirth or incarnated in the form of painting sculpture and literature .rebirth  .In this literary work Celestina’s character plays an imperative role. The character of Celestina  is embodied in many artists canvas such as the wel lknown Spanish  romantic artist and print maker Francisco Goya, Colombian artist Fernando Bothero ,and Pablo Picasso    Egocentric nature is an infinite phenomenon  of the human psychic  moreover in this text  the Celestina’s character   portrayed as a  gluttonous natured women  moreover to satisfy her ego she has exploited  different sensual disadvantage of people around her .The sex is one of the sensual module of human being which she has exploit

The cat is a signifier of a prostitute juxtaposition of cat form gives a sexual overtone to  Celestina   .Picasso has collected various editions of Celestina later  his reading and observations has  reflected  or incarnated as a creative exploration .This  series of  creative work entitled as La Celestina .Picasso has chosen   Carolota Vlavida as reference for the physicality or the finite form of Celestina  . Vlavida was not a woman pimp however  her damaged eyesight  gives a  ferocious  gaze   it  made Picasso  to choose her as a life  model for La Celestina  painting .  The   life studies which painted By Modi Gliiani , and Picasso shows the life model is a significant influential factor in a work of art . A couple of month back I could meet a women  past three decade she has been  working as a life model in various fine colleges in Hyderabad .Her name is Sony .

She is a Lambada women who wear colorful and  glittering attire. Mr.Glower paul  is one of my friends and MFA class mate in Hyderabad central university  and, presently  he is teaching  in Pottisreeramulu Telungu University  .He  has portrayed her various postures of Soni  .While traveling in the twen cities of Hyderabad I have often scene various  Lambada women .obviously the the juxtaposed mirror  in the attire ,  eye cache color dress  made me to know more about them however I did not get any  occasion . However I have spoken with the sony moreover I have also  asked few questions . Since I am neither good to speaking in Hindi nor Telugu I put my friend Mr. Paul in the loop of communication . Since she  admired Paul the discussion went smooth and  fruitful. She is from  Mehebub Nagar district it is one of the Lambada settlement in Andrapradesh .The substantial allowance of  Lambadas  depends on various  jobs  We were anxious about the dress code and ornaments .which she has wore  immediately ,she has asked if we want them so she could procure  a couple of earrings  and the colorful dress . Initially those dress and the ornaments were available within the Lambadi settlement  these particular place where they have procure the dress and ornaments known as Anganvadi . and the thick white bangle which the Lambadi women weare  made with Camel bone or ivory in initial days . Now the scenario is changed she says the bangle which they have wore are made with Plastic .The dresses which only available in Lambadi circle are available in various shops in the twin cities of Hyderabad . We were again  curious about the strange attire which they are wearing still .She made a glance on  us and smiled.
