If Mr. Roy takes bath definitely Peelu will laugh

If Mr. Roy takes bath definitely Peelu will laugh. This is a well articulated mischievous phrase appeared in an April fool day on the front door of Mr. Roy’s flour mill. Well, Mr. Roy and Mr.Peelu are two of my neighbors, and very interesting and at the same time peculiar personalities, making their life out of business. Mr. Roy is an owner of a Flour mill .
Kadavanthra was the hub for agriculture, variety of crops like bottle guard, snake guard, spinaches, paddy coconut and many more cultivated. Moreover, the substantial allowance of the people depends on those various crops ,domestic animals and aqua species. Roy’s mill, St.Joseph Church, Kadavanthra School, St.Sabestian Church Kallu pallam karayogam are the prime land mark of old kadavanthra. Mr. Roy’s mill has various food processors. He refine various raw food material for instances , he process oil out of coconut, wheat and rice flour.

My father’s name is Vakachan .However, there are two more people having the same name, thus people identified them either on the bases of their work or surname my father known as padathu vakachan .As I mentioned the kadavanthra was one of the hub of agriculture it seems our home was neighbor to paddy fields gradually the paddy field (paadam) has given an identity to my father .And my self and my brother known as padathu vakachantea makkal (sons ) .Though these fertility land is occupied by dwellings today, the name remains the same(PADDAM)

The idea of this mill may be begun from this rural agriculture context. Why did I say the idea of mill begun from the agriculture context because among the other mills in kadavanthra Roy is the only person having a rice refiner yet .Still, people bring husky rice from their villages and approach him Roy to refine it

This building is quite old and interestingly, the mill has one of the photographs of my parent’s marriage, which happened thirty three years back. Well, whenever me and my brother see that sepia colored obscured photograph we amusingly watch this old building. Roy’s mill having a huge oil refiner and this refiner would exclusively works in summer season and, this particular machine would be engaging from the month of January to end of April .During these months’ people dry the coconut and make oil out of it. The taste and smell of both the dry coconut and oil is delectable. We used to collect the desecration of the coconut oil and eat it the taste of this dry coconut waste is hot and delicious.

In fact, my grand mother also used to make oil out of a small amount of raw coconut. Initially, she crush, scratch the coconut and extract its substance once she takeout it again she squeeze the white springy substance and pull out its luscious white essence .This peculiar fluid resemble to milk thus this essence known as coconut milk the coconut milk is so sweet and capricious. Among other dishes Ediyaappam is one of the mouth-watering dishes in Kerala .Ediyappam is made out of rice flour and resembles noodles, except that it has a definite shape. Rice threads in the Ediappam are thin and more delicate than noodles. .Among many, Coconut milk and Eddiappam is the incredible blend of taste.
Let’s see how did my grand mother prepare coconut oil? She makes boil the milky coconut essence quite some time and it transformed into to yellow colored coconut oil. The perfume of this oil is just wonderful Even, Mr. Roy’s mill also having the same smell.

Mr. Roy was one of the most demandable person in Kadavanthra because; He is a monopoly in this peculiar business. Always busy in the auspicious days like Christmas and Easter because Pallappam is one of the tasty dish of Easter and Christmas feast, which requires rice flour. So, on twenty fourth December, and Monty Thursday we can see a large queue of Christian women with rice basket at Roy’s mill, apparently it is almost like a get together within the short time span the chitchat and gossip taken place there .The contestation maybe on the grant Christmas feast, Christmas carol song and many more .
Mr. Roy always appears in a casual wear. Every thing in this mill including Mr. Roy plastered or veiled with a thin layer of Flour. For instance, the window and the doors of this mill having light gloomy sky gray color but, due to the layer of flour the gray color turn even more ominous. There is a small table and stool in his mill. He collects and keeps money from the customers and save it in the tiny locker of the table. Surface of this table and also plaster by the particles and remains of dust and oil. Roy is a short and bald headed person having overgrown formless hair .Initially he had a Royal Enfield bullet bike .The peculiarity of this bike is the bright royal blue shade and the extra fitted huge sun glass .It seems the renowned Malayalam film actor Mohan Lal ride this bullet bike in one of the famous Malayalam movie Poomukapadiyelninnayum kathu. Eventually, Roy’s bike is the talk of the place and ive thriving hard till date to understand the similarity .The sad part is that, this bike met with a random accident and broken the fancy attached glass veil .Both the bike and Mohanlal are hero archetype so that this particular incident or the information narrated in the form of a story. Of course this incident was one of the core discussions of school going children to St. Joseph UP School Kadavanthra. .Though the mill and Mr. Roy looks shabby his blue elegant bullet appeared neat. He is a one of the land lords lived with all the facilities Apart from the royal Enfield bullet bike VCR and pets were the other attraction of Mr. Roy’s achievements .He had flowering plants and a beautiful aquarium at his home and, this aquarium carry a verity of fishes like Gold fish, white Angel, black Angel, white molly, black molly and many more .The way he cleaned aquarium is amusing because, he suspiciously use a small refiner and take out the fishes from it .And, keep all these tiny mischievous fishes in a small vassal and restructure the setup of this elegant and mysterious bluish aqua world

Weekends Roy uses to screen Malayalam movies at home. Little kids rush to his home theater however, the latecomers stood outside and watch film through a window He had a black Pomeranian dog . I did watch few movies in his home the movies were Meen, Mahayanam and many more.

Mr. Peelu’s shop is a little away from my home so that very rarely we used to go there. A huge mango tree is visible in the backdrop of this shop so, more than his shop my glance revolved around on the ripen yellow mangos in this tree. Presently Peelu’s son is managing his shop and he is an interactive and Joel in nature whereas .both the Roy and peelu are the extreme form of two different expression and the inspiration of the slogan If Mr. Roy takes bath definitely Peelu will laugh engender from this context

Amma Manam (Mother perfume) is an article written by the renowned Malayalam Poet Dr.D.Vinayachandran .And, it published in the Malayalam magazine Vanitha in the month of September. This particular work is a musical or lyrical musings of Mother and son time Rather than his mother the writer profess the mystical endurance of mother’s love or devotion to the creative and innovative minds .Moreover, he also establish two innovative mother archetype in this writing For instance throughout this work Dr Vinayachandran compare two floras with his mother’s love and affection .And, the two plants are Tulasi (Sacred Basil) and vanaya tree .Scent of vanaya and tulasi is astonishing. It seems his mother used to make a vayana ada .let us have a brief overview on this hidden ingenious culinary skill. Among the other Adda is one of the delicious dishes of Malayalee.
The vayana Adda is so sweet dish. And, the perfumed substance of vianaya makes the ada too tasty to remember. To make this peculiar dish initially we have to fold the Vianaya leaf like cone shape and fill the sweet rice pulp .After fill the delicious sticky rice pulp we have to boil it. After boiling the rice transformed according to the corn shape of leaf .Once it cooked we can peal and have the delicious dish .The process of the preparation almost resemble to the Tibetan dish Momo .Among the verity of dishes it is one of the delicious dishes of southern Malayalee cuisine in general particularly the vayana Adda is famous in the places like kottayam, Ponkunnam and many more. He muses such a way that the up growing and blooming vayana trees like his mother

Vinayachandran seeing vayana and Tulasi from a poet’ and his mother’s affection towards these foliage .Later the abstract and immeasurable phenomenon like love , affection caring, incarnate through the simple blooming vegetation like Tulasi and Vayana. When we read the work of VinayaChandran we read it as a article but it evoke or perfume an audible or lyrical sense reader’s psyche .He also acknowledge and appreciate his mothers contribution on his poetic meditation .Here he acknowledge the mother like a heavenly being for instance, initially, she use to collect various works of different writers and copy it in a book later as a writer it was one of the inspiration which he incorporated from his mother He amazingly narrate or elaborate this peculiar creativity to the reader .

Mudivettukaran

A hair cutting saloon known as barbor shop or mudivettukada .Interior of a mudivettukada decorate with various colorful pictures these pictures may be a landscape or a grand architectural enclave and many more .These glossy pictures known as sceneries. Rather dressing hair alone my interest revolves around the colorful carnival or ocular juxtaposition of a barbershop. Consecutive usage of luxurious perfume, talcum power and facial cream make always the saloon’s void rich and elegant .In fact, startling and tempting soft perfumed ambience of a MudivettuKada is remarkable! Mudivettukadakaran use the colorful scattered hair dressing beauty tools dexterously.

The picturesque beauty table in the haircutting saloon remain the notion of carnival or little antique installed in a glass case .This pretty table made out of wood and plastered the surface with a vibrant flowering tablecloth .However, the final layer of this table envelop with a piece of plain glass .The place which beneath this transparent glass vale may look like an old album or a collector who maintain his precious collection of coin . The document which lay underneath the table may be a prayer for St Antony, young Cheguvera with charming smile , monthly electrically and water bill and many more , Apart from these collections .This table also carry little more different pretty objects it may be a grand decorative perfume bottle, sharp scissors, colorful creams , variety of combs , various hard and soft brushes .
In fact, he get the hair cut done with creativeness .Improvisation of hair cut include the stylish mode of trimming and shaving . Soon after shaving done he apply an antiseptic provision on the shaved collar and facial region .This peculiar antiseptic medium resemble to either an unstructured ice peace marble stone or a big salt crystal .This strange stoner known as Karakallu. Immediate After the karakallu wipe mudivettukaran softly wipes the tender shaved facial region with a neat and small towel having different design . Karakallu is a burning experience! So that small kids especially look at this strange white stone with white pearl tears!
most excellent moment of hair dressing is its climax because, he spray or shower a little water on the serrated or ploughed hair And, decorate or dress the hair with artistic fashion .The way he spray the water can very well compared with the cricket players and specters enjoy the climax of a match with shampine bottles and cocktails
.Soon after spell of rain Mudivettukadakaran uses different kind of talcum powder aroma of those talcum powders is delightful !In fact, those talcum power tins I have neither seen shop nor in any home .He use a little talcum power to takeout the remains of hair particles from the soggy skin surfaces ..He blot talcum powder on the facial region With a delicate spongy duster and meticulously wipe the face
Apart from this beauty table and a huge mirror Mudivettukadakaran also showcase the juxtaposition of various glossy cut- outs, silhouettes and calendar .The visuals which carry these calendars and sellouts are rare and rich .These colorful visuals looks as if it exclusively made for hairdressing saloons .Parade of these rich and rare visuals carry his favorite film stars, gods, goddess and historical portraits.
The mirror and revolving armed chair are placed in front of the beauty table such a way that a mudivettukaran can perceive entire dimension of the person who stand in frond of that table. Though a mudivettukadakaran dedicate in his work he made arrange the things such a way that he can interact or deal with each and every consumer. In fact, This gigantic mirror function as a communicative bridge or a networking device between mudivettukaran and his customers .The discussion which usually happen in the saloon deal with various topic .It may be a newly relised film ,or a secret love affair of a pretty girl or the criticism on local politics and many more .Rather than a discussion this conversation remains a storyteller who narrate or improvise the innovative ideas with the facial expression . Hairdressing job is laborious but dramatic oral presentation of facts, decorative and optical sensation swab the laboriousness
Most of these shops are made out of semi permanent building material like fire wood and asbestoses .Though these building are semi-permanent the construction or the design includes a minimum facilities like furniture, washbasin and various showcases The design of these shop suggest as if this shop made by using match boxes .

These shop are having double doors . Main door is stronger than the small one moreover, main door having facility to lock the shop. Always the polished door is an ornament for this shop .This tiny and pretty door made with glass and wood .Glass which attach with the door having various decorative patterns it may be a bunch of graphs or a bouquet of flower or a picture of sacred heart and many more. Interior of the shop having various decoration for instance the glass windows , vibrant color cuartins, fancy hangings and a glass cases .
Three haircutting saloons are near by my home The owners of the shops are Mr. Thankachan, Mr. Satyan and Mr. Baskaran. In fact, their shops having its own name .But, Rather than it’s name those shops known as Thankachante Mudivettu kada, satyantakada and baskarantea kada . Thankachan is one of the aficionados of Carl Marx and Jesus Christ. Evidently, we can see a various glossy pictures of St. Anthony, St. Mary .However , he reflect communism by subscribe the Malayalam communist news paper Deshobamani .Mostly people prefer to have hair cut on Sundays .So that we used to wait in the big queue and listen the amusing gossips

The Blinking eyes and naughty glance

Doolapally is a small remote village in andrapradesh .This village is almost thirty Km.away from Andhrapradesh capital city ,Hyderabad.Else where in this village we can see soft and sap green race fields, ploughed land , palm trees and little houses. In fact, most of the shops decorated with the advertisements of the multi national company .It may either The renowned telug film actor Mahesh Babu with a thumps up or coca cola bottle . Though the modernity effected doolapally the old fashioned dwellings are not yet washed away from the landscape .Still we can see the remains of stained and burnt umber olden residence .These are the remains of existed life styles .In fact, the pealed walls and old fashioned dilapidated shelter are the reminiscent of the rustic memory or a rural annotation .
D.R.S International school is in Doolapally .Few days back the IB diploma students in DRS had a visit to one of the neighboring schools in Doolapally this visit was the part of the Creative action service program . Among the other the CAS is one of the charismatic phases of the IB Diploma program Well, The objective of the visit was to educate about the awareness of Swine flue .it was a good experience being among one member in that team .After noon we reached to school. We realized that the school hardily having few number of class rooms .Moreover, none of the classrooms neither having electricity nor basic furniture . Due to the inappropriate ventilation the class rooms seems to be dull .And we could only see the white teeth and glowing eyes of little kids .We have seen the students who sat down on the earth and learning lessons enthusiastically .It was amusing to here the way they repeat their lesions melodiously. Once we reached school the students came and assemble in the dais .The gathering of the little kids in the stage can very well compared with either the march-past of soldiers or a moving train .The kiddy train reached and the infant soldiers gather in the stage like a half moon or a half circle .The little spectators were eagerly and wholeheartedly watch the skit performance. In fact, immediate after the program the students who performed in the stage asked few questions to the little listeners and the tiny audience reflected appreciably. It was a good experience of the way they improvised .The teachers who stood along with the kids were supported .while sharing the reflection on the skit they revealed the obscurity .teachers facilitate the students to recollect memories or joined the dismantle senescence .
Well, this activity very well compare with a child who learn cycling because he can have an effective drive after a one dozen fall .Due to their teachers support the little shy vanished or fade away and they reveal the flame of confidence .They share various reflections along with the glowing and energetic facial expressions
Initially both group of students were alienate to each other and hesitate to share. Students stood and interacted with the kids who is studying in that village school.Few minutes after the gap or the distance between the both group gradually decreased .Because, both group of students sat on the floor and interacted .they sang songs they performed dance .In fact the encouragement and the support of the teachers enriched the raw and infant artistic endeavors . Rather than a visit the rustic, raw, and innocent ambience of the school remain me a Mukmal Buff’s flim. It was amuse to see the cliché form of teachers who carry cane along with them. In fact, Buff is one of the renowned film directors in Iran .His visual language revolve around the ornamental and colossal narration of a glance or a small instance .The mode of narration which he creates in the film is the metaphors of innocence

Veneration of mother Mary
digital painting, 2009

Working on Pixel Art can very well be compared with a little kid's magic castle, which he creates with the use of funny, colorful ready made dismantling building blocks. Or, the confrontation of an infant towards a colorful puzzle block. The pixel art or painting suggest the parameter of the artistic limitation . In order to create a pixel art an artist need to channelize or dismantle their thought within the boundary or the parameter of the scattered pixels. This painting is made with the usage of two software, such as Ms Excel and Photo shop CS3. The excel sheet is a software which deal with Mathematical formulas and calculations .Rather than a painting this visual suggest the calculated application or implementation of color. Here the limitation of the visual can be mixed and matched with the icon of Virgin Mary . On the other words ,this mode of representation is a metaphor which narrate the taboo or the banal space which is being existed in the terrain of so called Christianity.

Identification mark It is a numerous term. On the other words the finite mark elaborate infinite identity. Throughout this work I juxtapose the conceptual and optical understanding of god. In fact, until now we emulate the ancient Hebrew authors who wrote" the Lord is my rock" (Ps. 18:2), "the Lord is my shepherd" (Ps. 23:1), and "the Lord is my light" (Ps. 27:1). The reader understands that the Lord is a rock in one sense and a shepherd in another sense, yet it is clear that the Lord is not only a rock, a shepherd, or a light. God may be other things as well. Here the mark is a new finite metaphor towards infinite god.

Jack fruit
This visual is an anthology of written and visual images. Carnival of these tiny and pretty things may lead the viewer to the children’s funny puzzle or the dexterity of a juggler because, here the work of art is dealt with the puzzle of scattered and juxtaposed ample ocular imageries. It may be a bunch of rose flower, the king and queen, a puppet family, and a spongy doll. This drama or mockery is created by some kind of stuffing sewing and stitching. However, these practices of art have been gendered or identified as feminine or so called craft. These are one of my friends, Mrs. Geetha Anil’s dexterity display .Moreover, she has been designated as a craft teacher and working with a school in India. Over a period of time she was my colleague in the same school. The designation and the remuneration of a craft teacher are somewhat marginal than the other subjects in India. Along with these craft work I have displayed the reproduced version of my grandfather’s personal dairy. My grandfather has written it between 1940 and 1980. Here, the synthesis of verbal and visual text is narrated in the form of puzzle .And, it emerges the constraint terrain of the women in elsewhere. Written texts which is attached along with these works are the documentation about my grandmother and the other female characters revolve around him , such as the working class women who had involved in some kind of events which took place in our house. The works include construction works, midwifery, cooking and other house hold requirements. Instead of the specific name here the female characters address by gender or cast in this dairy .Moreover , compare to the substantial allowance to the male worker the female worker’s daily wages or the substantial allowance documented is partially lower in this dairy . The form of a puzzle suggests the parameter. And, here, the margin of women is limited within the form of a vegetable.

It was an amazing and fantastic experience to be in the visually rich places like Belur temple, Sriranga pattonam, Halibid and the many others. Among the other seeing the sculpture of Nandi which situated in the Halibid temple has given me an amazing visual experience .In fact the visual language which implemented or articulated in the sculptural form of the Nandi suggest the notion of organicity. The massive and gigantic form of Nandi suggest as if the empty or void space (Piranha, vayu) remain inside the body. Moreover the notion of existence or endurance suggest by using the deftness of ornamental organic designs. In fact the element of design articulated such a way on this sculptural form suggest as if these flora and fauna grew up from the body of Nandi .In other words, bloomed ornamental flora and fauna suggest rather the limbs of this celestial or mystic being. Here the dexterity or the flow of design make a visual rhythm to the spectator .This Sculpture of Nandi exclusely deal with patterns and decorations .But, gigantic notion , ferocious facial expression , the tactile quality and the organicity remains yet this celestial or mythical being realistic to the spectator . In other words the sculpture form of Nandi is a quintessential blend or the fusion of fact and fiction
